Olympic Champion, World Champion and Huez Ambassador Callum Skinner is set to light up the streets of Brooklyn at the 2017 Red Hook Crit series opener on Saturday 29th April.
Scottish speedster Skinner won Gold in the Team Sprint and took Silver in the Individual Sprint at the Rio Olympics last summer, adding to his 2 World Cup Gold medals and 4 national sprint titles. Callum is teaming up with his friend and fellow British track cyclist Kian Emadi, a four-time Track World Cup medalist and three-time British National Track champion, to ride for Huez at the 10th edition of the popular Red Hook Crit Series event in Brooklyn. They'll even get to do it in a specially designed Team Huez skinsuit (swoon).
Callum’s status as an Olympic gold medalist has certainly caught the attention of Red Hook founder David Trimble: he's agreed to lend both British stars the use of his famous Trimble Racing carbon frames, built for the 2000 Olympic Gold medalist and Track Cycling legend, Marty Nothstein. Founded in 2008, the Red Hook Crit blends the excitement and adrenaline of fixed-gear racing with an amazing atmosphere, bringing fast-paced circuit racing on track bikes with drop bars and no brakes to the heart of the New York City suburb of Red Hook.
With the boys having just finished the 2017 Track Cycling World Championship in Hong Kong, they will be eager to test themselves out at this completely different discipline and have fun doing it.More stories
